This breeding calculator shows you the Pal (egg) you will get by breeding Parent 1 and Parent 2.
While the process of breeding Pals in Palworld may be time-consuming and costly, it proves to be a valuable investment for those seeking a consistent supply of hatched eggs. Although eggs can be discovered in the wild, taking control of the breeding process allows you to determine the optimal combination for retaining desirable traits.
Learn how to start breeding
Research and build the breeding farm
Bake a cake
First off, you can research the breeding farm at level 19, but it doesn't require any difficult materials. Make sure you build it in a nice open area that doesn't clip into anything, since otherwise Pals can get confused and leave mid-process.
The necessary items to build a breeding farm are:
The next step is baking that cake. You'll need to research and construct the cooking pot at level 17, as well as the mill and wheat plantation at level 15.
Ideally, you'll also have at least one ranch so you can get a steady flow of the necessary ingredients:
To select Pals for breeding, first, identify their gender using the gender symbol next to their name. Assign a male and female Pal. Opt for Lucky Pals, Alpha Pals, or rare Pals, as they tend to produce larger eggs and superior offspring. Additionally, choose Pals with rare traits marked by three gold chevrons, as these traits may be inherited by descendants, enabling you to eventually achieve the desired trait combination through trial and error.
Once you're ready to get your Pals breeding, simply:
1. Assign them to your base
2. Pick them up one by one and place them in the breeding farm
3. Make sure there's a cake in the box
4. An egg will be produced once the progress wheel fills
5. Place your egg in the incubator to hatch it.
You can get all the ingredients by catching or hunting Pals, but it's easier to grow them in your base. To set up an ideal ingredient farm, build a ranch and get Chikipi, Mozzarina, and Beegarde to make eggs, milk, and honey.
Consider advancing to level 12 to research and build a cooler box near the ranch, enhancing ingredient preservation and preventing them from being consumed by other Pals in the feed box. While Sweepa excels at cooling, Pengullet or Chillet are also suitable choices.
Once the preparations are complete, utilize the cooking pot to craft your cake. Due to the lengthy process, employing a Pal with superior kindling, such as Arsox, is recommended. After completion, transfer the cake to the breeding farm box—keep in mind that one cake yields one egg, so select your breeding pairs wisely!
Learn how breeding works
The way breeding works is rather simple. Each Pal has a hidden 'breeding power' number between 10 and 1500. The lower the number the more rare or powerful the Pal is. All Pal Power levels are shown below the Pal's name in our breeding calculator. The breeding power of both parents is averaged to determine the baby/egg's power:
(Parent 1 Power + Parent 2 Power) / 2 = Baby Power.
The game will then pick the Pal with the closest power to that average. As an example, if the baby Power ends up being 1015, and the closest values are 1010 (Felbat) and 1020 (Robinquill), the baby will be Robinquill. The 'tie breaker' (since 1015 is equal distance between 1010 and 1020) just comes down to the which Pal comes first in the game file's index. In this case Robinquill comes first in the game files so it gets picked over Felbat.
The way it works is that you can't get a Pal (creature) that's stronger or rarer than your strongest or rarest parent. For instance, if your starting parents have powers of 570 (Anubis) and 1460 (Cattiva), the result will be the average: (570 + 1460) / 2 = 1015 (Robinquill). If you then mate that baby at 1015 with your starting 570 Anubis, the average is: (570 + 1015) / 2 = 792.5 (closest to Arsox at 795).
You can never breed a Pal stronger/rarer then the parents, but you can take a strong/rare Pal and quickly start breeding Pals near that strenght.
